Harrah’s to try new Peer to Peer remote gaming system
The gaming devices will be presented in November
Progressive Gaming International Corporation and Harrah’s Licensing LLC, an affiliate of Harrah’s Entertainment Inc., have signed an agreement to develop the World Series of Poker Peer to Peer Texas Hold’em gaming system. The new devices will allow customers to play poker anywhere within the casino’s property.
The mentioned "peer-to-peer" system is going to be connected to a secure Intranet server that controls and manages the entire action. “Players are going to be able to play within the casino property at a bar, restaurant, and even poolside,” a spokesperson for PGIC said. It was not explained whether the system would be working with an electronic table or not.
The peer-to-peer World Series of Poker game system will be launched by PGIC during the November’s Global Gaming Expo in the sin city of Las Vegas. Harrah’s casinos is going to start offering the devices in the year 2007, subject to regulatory approval.
