Germany doesn’t want online gambling either
December 13th will be the D day
The new rules that will be signed by the first ministers of the states on December 13th mean that it will be prohibited for foreign companies as well as for German ones to offer bets on Internet, according to the information given. Either the providers of Internet services will be obligated to filtrate the sites that don’t fulfill the law or the banks will be ordered not to transfer money outside Germany to pay bets.

The state of Sajonia and another two states have recently imposed a prohibition of the commercial bets in order to try to protect its lucrative lottery monopoly. The prohibition is mainly centered in the Austrian Internet firm Bwin.com, which is the biggest gambling house of commercial betting in the country.

As a reminder, the United States will have most of the types of online gambling forbidden under a law project that finally reached approval in the American Congress by the end of September. Once the project was approved by the Representative Chamber and the Senate, the only thing needed left is the signature of President George W. Bush so that the law comes into force.
