A report made by the company Ipswitch assures that 7% of the spam mail people receive is from gambling, a tendency that seems to take advantage of the current world phenomenon of online gaming.
The mentioned company is leader in the development of nets supervision, messaging and file transference solutions, has announced the results of its seventh investigation about spam, and it revealed that it represents 93% of all the not wanted-emails received. This is the highest rate since they are doing the research.
This number represents a growth in relation to the 84% of the previous trimester, and to the 62% of the same period but of the year 2006. The category leader in spamming is medications, and it represents a third of the total, closely followed by emails with advice to invest in stock and phishing.
The ranking of the type of spamming the internet users get:
1. Medications - 34% - (raised from the 2° place)
2. Finances/ishing - 33% - (decreased from the 1° place)
3. Idecipherable- 12% - (new entrance)
4. Gambling - 7% - (new entrance)
5. Pornography - 5% - (decreased from the 4° place)
