Gambling houses to limit access
The project limits casino’s timetable to prevent compulsive gambling
The project, presented by Adriana Cudós, approved by the Representatives Chamber to limit the period of time gambling rooms remain open. The reason to consider this project was the fact that compulsive gambling has grown considerably which is causing serious problems in the society.

“The compulsive player is driven by an un controllable impulse to accept risks and, in many situations, the person has to opt for illegal activities or against his own will in order to get the money he needs to keep on playing”, said Cudós to support her initiative, and she added “it presents a pathological high risk of committing suicide, besides other tensions that lead them to suffer from psychosomatic originated illnesses”.

The games that cause more addiction are slot machines with 51%, followed by roulette with 20%. Therefore, many places have already chosen to limit the time schedule of these places. The doors have to be closed from the morning until 6 p.m.
