Betfair has doubled the number of Spanish users in 2006
Along the first quarter of the year, Spain has become one of the most important markets for the gambling exchange company Betfair, one of the casinos world leading firms. This country experimented 150% growth during the last year, and it’s the fastest growing market for these services.
According to online magazine SoloAzar.com, “Betfair has doubled its number of registered users in Spain since the beginning of the current year, becoming the company’s fourth most important growing market”. It’s only placed behind other countries that have a great gambling tradition, such as England, Ireland or Germany.
The first months of 2006 have been really positive for this UK-based gambling company. Nowadays, Betfair has more than 500,000 registered users in England, Australia, Ireland, Italy, Greece, Germany and the Nordic Countries. Betfair is currently the biggest Internet gambling firm all over the world.
According to Sacha Michaud, director of Betfair in Spain, “the Spanish market is growing, but the gambling boom has not started yet in this country”. Michaud assures that “in the near future, Spain will be one of the most important markets for Betfair”. This trend has been clearly shown by the latest reports and news.
