A New York judge liberated the former CEO of Sportingbet
The arrest order is still valid in other states
Peter Dicks, former CEO of Sportingbet, has been freed after the governor of New York, George Pataki, refused to sign the extradition order of the CEO to the State of Louisiana.

“I am very grateful”, said Dicks when he left the court. When the trial started, Dicks still didn’t know that Pataki had decided that New York wouldn’t execute Louisiana’s order. The lawyer that defends Dicks, Barry Slotnick, said tat the governor Pataki “had checked all the papers and listened to all the arguments before he decided that the extradition is not appropriated at all”.

Judge López only removed the arrest order of Dicks in New York, which doesn’t affect the validness of the arrest in other states. Dicks, who had been arrested last September 7th, and remained 48 hours detained before being released under bail, says he has no plans in going back to the United States. In Great Britain, the Barclay brothers, owners of the newspapers Daily and Sunday Telegraph, decided to leave the problematic sector and sell their gambling site Ritz Club London Online to Ukbetting, the company of games and online sports.

Meanwhile, David Carruthers, former CEO of BetonSports, still remains under arrest in St. Louis, Missouri, United States.
